When you clean the cup after every use, rinse it with a shot of cold water first. Hot water can lock in smells. Then, take an unused toothbrush to scrub the cup thoroughly. Finally, make sure you're sanitising your cup after each period.
No, but if you prefer that your cup to be fully sanitized before or after each cycle you can safely do so.
It is important that you wash your menstrual cup at least twice a day during your cycle (every 12 hours), and ideally every 4-8 hours. After removing your cup and emptying the contents, simply wash the cup under cold or warm water and then re-insert.
You can wear a menstrual cup for 6 to 12 hours, depending on whether or not you have a heavy flow. This means you can use a cup for overnight protection. You should always remove your menstrual cup by the 12-hour mark.
All of our menstrual cups are sent in a kraft paper bag and require sanitisation before first use.
