A simple yet effective new system at Forrist to further reduce the amount of waste involved in your shopping experience. And as a thank you for your efforts to reduce waste, you’ll get 5% off all the reuse & refill products you purchase. As the name suggests, this scheme will allow you to reuse and refill your old reusables when you're shopping with us, instead of receiving new ones each time you buy. All it takes is a few simple steps.
How it Works
CHOOSE TO COLLECT OR POST
If you’re local and bringing your reusables to us, select ‘Store Pickup’, if you’re shipping your containers, it’s 'Shipping'. Include your order number with your reusables and any packing preferences. Please contact us for any help.
Reusables we Accept
We recommend you avoid posting glass bottles/jars with the exception of Fill products & pantry liquids like oils and vinegars. Ensure that all reusables are clean and ready to be filled.

Faqs
What should I ship my containers in?
If you're sending bulky items like bottles and jars, we'd recommend you send them in a well padded shipping box. For cotton/kraft bags, smooth them out (folding where necessary) and put them in an envelope or mailing bag.
How long will my order take?
We aim to pack and ship your order within 24 hours of receiving your containers.
Why should I use Reuse & Refill?
Even though all of our packaging is 100% reusable or compostable, and contains no plastic whatsoever, it is still better for the environment to limit the amount of resources we use when we can. Recycling and composting are very important sustainable practices, but they still take time and energy, and in the case of recycling, the plants these materials are sent too to be broken down and repurposed contribute to air pollution. Not to mention, a considerable amount of the items you’re putting in your recycling bins don’t get recycled at all. Also, by using new containers when you already have perfectly usable containers at your disposal, you are increasing the demand for more of these raw materials to be expended.
For example, if you were to receive an order in new glass jars, instead of using those which you already have, more glass is then being made to meet your demand, so the new materials must be taken from the Earth and the energy-intensive glass-making process must commence, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions. The same would go for wood or metal containers – these materials are much more sustainable than single-use plastic containers, but only because they are re-usable. If you don’t make use of the wooden or metal containers you have, more trees need to be cut down, more metal needs to be mined and extracted, and more energy-consuming, GHG-emitting production processes need to be carried out in order to meet the demand for new product.
Recycling sustainable materials is certainly better than using single-use plastics or other materials which will inevitably end up in landfill. But whilst you still have these reusables in perfectly good condition, the most sustainable shopping choice you can make is to continue using them each time you shop.
