Organic Cocoa Powder is made from Cocoa beans. Full of zinc, iron and selenium, cocoa powder helps boost your immune system, with magnesium helping to maintain healthy muscle. Perfect for making healthy chocolate baked goodies, you can also stir cocoa powder into hot milk or hot water to enjoy a warm & delicious hot cup of cocoa.
How Its Grown/Processed
Cocoa beans are extracted from the pods they grow in on the cacao tree. These beans are then fermented, dried, roasted and cracked to make nibs. These nibs are then ground down to extract roughly 75% of the cocoa butter, leaving a dark brown pasta called chocolate liquor. This is then dried and the mass remaining is ground down to make the cocoa powder. Cocoa beans are harvested from the cacao tree which are native to southeastern South America, in countries such as Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.
